PROGRAM OF TWO-DAY EXCURSION IN SYRA 11-13 JUNE 2010
Friday, 11 June:
- ARRIVAL on the Blue Star Ferry “Ithaca”, 11.30pm.
- Welcoming at Locanda in the location Achladi.
- 17.00pm.: Tour of the island. Visiting the countryside of Kato Meria (neoclassical residences at Chrousa, Poseidonia, Piskopio) and exploring the landscape of Apano Meria (archaeological sites, rural churches et al.) Last stop at the preserved settlement from the Middle Ages of Ano Syros.
- Dinner on the hill of Ano Syros.
Saturday, 12 June:
- 9.30 – 11.00 am.: From cinema to video art (Introduction to visual-acoustic language) at Hall ‘M’. Presentation by M. Faros.
- 11.30am. – 14.30pm.: Tour of Hermoupolis (Apollo Theater, El Greco painting, Cemeteries, Town Hall, city mansions, municipal buildings of the 19th century, et al.)
- 19.30 – 21.00pm.: On the occasion of the work « The Assumption of the Virgin» by El Greco ( Hall ‘Μ’).
- Dinner at Poseidonia (at ‘the Kyverneio).
Sunday, 13 June:
- 9.30 – 11.30am: From cinema to video art (Introduction to visual-acoustic language) at Hall ‘M’. Presentation by M. Faros.
- 12.00 – ? : Boat ride along the beaches of Ano Meria (visit to the location Grammata). Afternoon meal at Kini (at Allou Yalou).
- Night DEPARTURE for Pireas (after 20.00pm).
